Nick Page - The World in Six Songs
The World in Six Songs
February, 2010
Singers in Accord is proud to welcome nationally known song-leader, composer and clinician, Nick Page to the Twin Cities as the guest conductor for its February concert series, "The World in Six Songs," in accord with the choirs from Osseo Senior High School, North View International Baccalaureate World School and Rockford High School.
Nick will bring the choirs and audience together in song as he demonstrates the inspirational experience that transpires when a community sings together. Each choir will perform a wonderful array of music that celebrates the concert theme, "The World in Six Songs," which was inspired by a book of the same title by Daniel Levitin. In his book, Levitin identifies six fundamental song types - friendship, joy, comfort, religion, knowledge and love - then shows how each in its own way has enabled the social bonding necessary for human culture and society to evolve.
You won't want to miss these uplifting performances that will capture the essence of community through this stirring musical collaboration!
