Sun. May 22, 4:00 pm at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, Edina [map]
This Spring, Singers in Accord and guest conductor G. Phillip Shoultz, III will share an artistic and emotional arc of music, celebrating the rich body of choral literature by Black composers that goes well beyond the popular spiritual and gospel genres. The inspiring cantata, “I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes” by Adolphus Hailstork, will be the centerpiece of the performance, featuring chorus, orchestra, and guest tenor soloist Dr. Gregory S. Broughton from the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music.
Don’t miss this rich opportunity to experience the breadth of history and profound beauty of this seldom-performed music!
